We are very happy to welcome Debaser to the 6131 family! After picking up the "Rich White Boys" 7" earlier this year I knew there was something special about this band, and after seeing them at the Great American Hardcore Fest my feelings were confirmed. There were a lot of great bands that weekend, but Debaser absolutely blew me away. To say that we're excited to be working with them is an understatement. I can't wait to hear what they do next. Look for their debut 7" on 6131 to come out next spring/summer.

6131 to release a new 7" from BANE

Founded on beliefs that are in short supply within the current underground music scene, Massachusetts BANE has established themselves as one of the most influential and relevant bands in hardcore today. Since their inception, they've become one of the scene's hardest working bands touring the world over and releasing 3 full length's 1999's It All Comes Down To This, 2001's critically acclaimed Give Blood, and 2005's The Note.
Four years have passed since The Note was released, and the members of BANE schedules were looking busier then ever, finding the time to write a new full length seemed unrealistic. In June 2009, the band booked studio time with Jay Maas at Getaway Studios and decided to go in and record however many new tracks they had at the time. A week later they emerged with six new songs all of them named after American soap operas, all six coming straight from their hearts..
Freed of any obligations from their long time label Equal Vision, the new material will be released on various labels throughout the world all of which will have their own signature title and cover art for the release. Various photographers were contacted in the different locations around the world where the records would be released and a photo shoot at the exact minute on the same day took place, seven photographers took a picture of their city skyline at that minute, on that day. For some it was 7:58 in the morning for others 12:58 at night, but they all pulled it off and the photo they took would be the cover and the title of the release for each territory, Tokyo 7:58am, Dublin 11:58pm, Boston 6:58pm, Perth 7:58am and to be released by 6131 Records on December 8th - Los Angeles, 3:58 pm.

In Control "The Nard Curse"
Oxnard, CA's, In Control was around from 1999 - 2004, and in that time they toured the country multiple times, released two LP's for Indecision Records, a handful of 7"s, and their demo. On December 5th, 2009, In Control will be playing one more time. To commemorate this show, 6131 Records is beyond excited to announce the release of "The Nard Curse" LP. "The Nard Curse" LP will include In Control's original demo, and their first 7", both have been out of print for many years. Preorders will begin soon, so be on the lookout for those.

we sent joey out to boston this morning for the great american hardcore fest this weekend. we've also got alpha & omega, bad seed, and rotting out playing, so stop by their respective tables and help them out.
earlier this week was greg's birthday, and we celebrated by going to a dodgers game against the pirates. packed it in the all you can eat section and stuffed our faces.
and tonight is taco thursday at del taco. 3 chicken soft tacos for 2.09. stoked

We didn't get accepted to play THE FEST in Florida. This fucks up my planning. I imagine it wouldn't be a good idea to be anywhere near Florida that entire week, am I wrong? Let me know of some ideas. I've had people tell me to show up anyway maybe get on a show or two, but it seems a bit risky is it not?
